Odisha signs major MoU for India’s largest FDI in mining and metallurgy through the Odisha Aluminium Project.
Odisha Aluminium Project marks a defining milestone in the state’s industrial journey. Officials signed an MoU between IPICOL and International Holding Company (IHC), Abu Dhabi, for a proposed mega integrated aluminium value chain project in Odisha.The Odisha Aluminium Project will be developed through a joint venture between Adani Enterprises Limited and International Resources Holding (IRH), an IHC Group company. The proposed investment stands at approximately USD 11.5 billion, which equals ₹1.10 lakh crore. This partnership is set to become India’s largest FDI in the mining and metallurgy sector.
The project aims to position Odisha as a key player in the global aluminium supply chain. It is expected to create over 53,500 employment opportunities. In his statement, the Chief Minister said, “I was pleased to join the MoU signing ceremony between IPICOL and International Holding Company (IHC), Abu Dhabi, for a proposed mega integrated aluminium value chain project in Odisha.”He added that the landmark investment reflects strong investor confidence and reinforces the vision of transforming Odisha into an industrially advanced state. The project aligns with the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Purvodaya vision. It supports goals for a prosperous, modern, inclusive, and industrially advanced Samruddha Odisha, moving towards Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047.
