Amit Shah to Launch Powerful Land Port Management System on 09 june Tuesday

Land Port Management System will be launched by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah on Tuesday, 9th June 2026 in New Delhi. The launch marks a key step in India’s efforts to modernize its border infrastructure through digital solutions. The initiative highlights the Modi Government’s focus on smart border management and security for cross-border trade and passenger movement. LPMS is a state-of-the-art digital platform that will integrate operations across all land ports into one unified system.

Land Port Management System brings land ports at par with the digital systems already in use at airports and seaports. It enables secure, real-time exchange of logistics and regulatory information. This will help reduce delays and improve efficiency at India’s international borders. The system introduces end-to-end digital workflows for cargo and passenger processing. These include slot booking, payments, tracking, and single-window clearances. LPMS is fully integrated with key national platforms such as ICEGATE, ULIP, and the motor vehicle ecosystem. This integration will support interoperable, efficient, and transparent border management.

On the same occasion, the Union Home Minister will inaugurate newly developed Stakeholder accommodation facilities at the Dawki Land Port in Meghalaya and Srimantapur Land Port in Tripura. These facilities will support border security personnel and other stakeholders working at the ports. The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) is responsible for developing and managing these land ports. LPAI operates 15 land ports across India’s international borders. These include Attari and Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab along the India-Pakistan border; Rupaidiha in Uttar Pradesh, Raxaul and Jogbani in Bihar along the India-Nepal border; Darranga in Assam along the India-Bhutan border; and several ports along the India-Bangladesh border such as Petrapole in West Bengal, Dawki in Meghalaya, Sutarkandi, Golakganj and Mankachar in Assam, and Agartala, Srimantapur and Sabroom in Tripura. Moreh in Manipur serves the India-Myanmar border.

Land Port Management System will function as a neutral and open platform. It will help different stakeholders including government agencies and private operators to coordinate seamlessly. The platform is expected to enhance transparency and operational efficiency at all land ports. This development gives new impetus to India’s border and internal security under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. It supports the broader goal of strengthening trade facilitation, connectivity, and national security while working towards Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The launch of the Land Port Management System is a significant milestone in technology-enabled border management. It will improve the handling of cargo and passenger movement across land borders. Officials expect smoother processes and better security through real-time data sharing.People involved in cross-border trade and travel can expect faster processing times once the system is active. The single-window clearances and digital tracking features will make operations simpler for traders, transporters, and passengers.

The Land Port Management System will play an important role in India’s efforts to build modern infrastructure at its land borders. It brings together technology, security, and efficiency in one platform for better management of international movement through land ports.
