Delhi Government to Transform Sub-Registrar Offices in Major Push for Citizen Services

Delhi Government to transform all Sub-Registrar offices into modern, technology-driven and citizen-friendly service centres. The initiative aims to eliminate delays, corruption, middlemen and unnecessary procedural hurdles in property registration services across the city.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the new model registrar offices will be developed on the lines of Passport Seva Kendras. She said that it will provide facilities such as digital assistance counters, smart token systems, online appointment booking, real-time application tracking and trained staff to ensure transparent and time-bound service delivery.

The upgraded Sub-Registrar offices will feature digital assistance counters for direct help to citizens. Smart token systems will manage visitor flow and reduce waiting time. Citizens will also get the option of online appointment booking from home.Real-time application tracking will allow people to check the status of their property registration requests at any time. Trained staff will handle all processes to maintain transparency and meet fixed service timelines.

This move by the Delhi Government is expected to make property registration smoother for residents. The changes target common problems such as long delays and dependence on middlemen in the current system.By following the Passport Seva Kendra model, the administration hopes to set a new standard for government services in the capital. Officials believe the technology-driven approach will build greater trust in public offices.
