Jammu and Kashmir authorities successfully rescued all tourists stranded in the Gulmarg Gondola ropeway after a major technical snag halted operations at the famous tourist resort.More than 300 tourists were trapped inside 65 cabins of the cable car. The cabins were hanging nearly 500 feet above the ground when the ropeway stopped working.
A massive rescue operation lasting seven hours was launched immediately. Teams from NDRF, SDRF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army’s Chinar Corps, and local administration worked together to bring all passengers to safety.All tourists were rescued without any injuries. The joint effort ensured that every person trapped in the cabins reached the ground safely.
