The government has set up enforcement squads at both district and block levels. The clear purpose is to curb various unethical activities. These include black marketing of kerosene, hoarding of kerosene, and supply of substandard kerosene. The squads operate across the entire state. Their formation supports ongoing checks in the current financial year.
In the current financial year so far, enforcement teams have conducted raids on 11,684 kerosene shops. These raids cover the entire state. The checks focus on finding signs of kerosene black marketing and related irregularities. Each raid forms part of the wider effort to control supply and distribution of kerosene.
Following the raids, show-cause notices have been issued to 2,774 individuals. The notices require these persons to explain their actions linked to possible unethical practices. This step comes after the inspection of the 11,684 kerosene shops. It allows authorities to gather responses before taking further measures.
Kerosene sales by 321 dealers have been temporarily suspended. This action follows findings from the raids and related checks. The temporary halt applies to dealers connected with the inspected shops. It remains in place while authorities review the cases involving kerosene black marketing and other issues.
Licenses of 170 dealers have been suspended on charges of involvement in unethical activities. In addition, licenses of 96 dealers have been canceled. These decisions target dealers found linked to black marketing of kerosene, hoarding, or supply of substandard kerosene. The numbers reflect the results of the statewide enforcement drive in the current financial year.

People across the state can expect continued checks on kerosene distribution. The formation of district and block level squads shows ongoing attention to black marketing of kerosene, hoarding, and substandard supply.
