NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Creates Nationwide Concern

NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Sparks Fresh Demand To Abolish Exam

NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has triggered fresh political debate after the cancellation of the medical entrance examination. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay released a statement criticizing the repeated failures in conducting the national-level exam.

The Chief Minister said the cancellation has affected lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. He stated that students and families are facing uncertainty after preparing for the examination for several months.

The statement came after reports of the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and the subsequent cancellation of the examination process.

Tamil Nadu Government Raises Questions Over NEET System

In his statement, C. Joseph Vijay said this was not the first time NEET had faced serious allegations. He referred to the 2024 NEET paper leak case, where FIRs were registered across six States and later transferred to the CBI for investigation.

He said another paper leak within two years proves that there are major structural flaws in the national-level examination system.

According to the Chief Minister, repeated incidents have damaged the credibility of NEET and raised concerns about fairness and transparency in the examination process.

NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Renews Tamil Nadu’s Opposition

The Tamil Nadu government once again repeated its long-standing opposition to NEET. In the statement, the Chief Minister said the State had consistently opposed the examination since its introduction.

He claimed that NEET has negatively affected students from rural areas, Government schools, Tamil medium backgrounds, and economically weaker families.

The statement said many students from disadvantaged backgrounds struggle to compete equally under the current examination system.

Demand To Abolish NEET Raised Again

C. Joseph Vijay urged the Centre to abolish NEET and allow States to conduct admissions under the State quota based on Class 12 marks.

The Tamil Nadu government demanded permission for States to fill MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH seats using higher secondary examination results instead of a centralized entrance examination.

The Chief Minister said the latest NEET-UG 2026 paper leak incident strengthens the State’s argument against the examination system.

“This cancellation has shattered the hopes of lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. This is not the first time NEET has been compromised,” C. Joseph Vijay said in the statement.

“Within two years, another paper leak has occurred and the examination has been cancelled. This is conclusive proof of flaws and structural flaws in a national level exam,” he added.
The NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has created uncertainty among medical aspirants and parents across India. Students are now waiting for further announcements regarding the future examination schedule and admission process.

The issue is also expected to increase political debate over the future of NEET and the demand for alternative admission systems by several States.
