ITBP All-Women Expedition Triumphs with Historic Everest Summit

ITBP has achieved a major milestone with its first-ever All-Women Expedition to Mount Everest.The ITBP team summited Mount Everest (8,848 m) via the South Col Route on 21 May 2026. The first climber reached the summit at 0652 hrs. All 11 women climbers successfully reached the top.This marks the first time an ITBP all-women team has completed the Everest ascent. The climbers followed the South Col Route during the expedition.

ITBP is known for its work in border security and high-altitude operations. This success adds to the force’s record in challenging mountain environments.The expedition highlights the growing role of women in ITBP operations at extreme heights. All members of the 11-woman team completed the climb safely on the same day.
